Proposed Extension to Thompson Leisure Ltd
Drumnabreeze Road, Magheralin
We are inviting your views on a proposal for the extension to the existing Thompson Leisure facility at 62b - 62c Drumnabreeze Road, Magheralin. The feedback received will help to inform the planning application that will be submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council.
The application site comprises 62b - 62c Drumnabreeze Road, Magheralin and adjacent lands to the south. It also includes a section of Drumnabreeze Road from No. 69 to 137m to the north-north-east of No. 60.
A copy of the site location plan with the application site outlined in red can be viewed and downloaded below:
The current facility operated by Thompson Leisure Ltd at 62b - 62c Drumnabreeze Road is primarily used for the preparation, service, rental and storage of campervans and motorhomes. The original garage/workshop and yard benefit from Certificate of Lawfulness approval LA08/2022/0027/LDE.
Due to the continued growth of the business, the yard has been extended and work has also commenced on an extension to the northeast side of the garage/workshop building. An aerial image of the existing site and building is provided below:
The applicant intends to submit a full planning application for the regularisation and completion of the extended building and yard, as well as a further extension and internal alterations to the existing commercial garage/workshop and extension to the yard and parking area for motorhome sales, repair, storage, service and rental.
Ancillary development includes the erection of solar panels on the roof of the extended commercial
garage/workshop building, erection of a customer waiting area building and a building to house a biomass boiler and associated fuel storage. Passing bays are also proposed as an improvement to Drumnabreeze Road.
The proposed site layout is shown below and a copy of the drawings for the proposed development and details of the proposed road improvements can also be downloaded below:
